Record Label

I've researched Glassnote as my specific record label as I think they would be most likely to sign our artist.
Founded in 2007 by Daniel Glass, Glassnote has become the record label most suitable for our artist as it takes on indie rock and alternative rock artists which perfectly suits our music genre. Bands such as CHRVRCHES, Daughter, Two Door Cinema Club and even Phoenix are part of this label showing that either artist known or less known are taken on. The amount of people signed to this record is minimal which perfectly fits our music type which targets the niche audiences; the emphasis being on music rather than the money made from it.

The record label has a good connection with tumblr as well as twitter which would help distribute our music, especially with a fresh artist joining the music industry. The official site of ‘Glassnote’ promoted tours and shares music videos/ new tracks which would be highly beneficial specifically with the upcoming release of our video.

The reason as to why it would be the perfect label for our artist is because unlike major labels it doesn't take over the artist’s actions; there is team work rather than dominance over the shape of the career.  This label hence recognises the advanced technology and push in new media however, gives the artist a free hand in the area they want to stick in as long as they and the record grow. This record label takes on people that are passionate about music and have an understanding of the evolving industry that our artist will definitely portray through the music video. What’s most important is the fact that even though the artist is signed to an independent label, team work is widely valued and in cooperated into the expansion of your career- making it feel like a big family; something not always felt with major labels

Shooting Updates - 27/10/14

On the 27th of October 2014, the group filmed our performance shoots in the 'Graffiti Tunnel' in Leake Street

Mise-en-Scene - Guitar/ Indie Clothing

Location - Graffiti Tunnel - shots where the artist is against the graffiti walls - so you can see the designs

Sound - Some Diegetic sounds used for the beginning of the video

Lighting - mostly natural lighting - but there were lights inside the tunnel

Equipment used - Tri Pod/ Camera/ Speakers/

What went well?

- Lighting looks/ makes the video look bright        and colorful (with the graffiti)
- Not many pedestrians - so we were able to get shots alone with the performer
- Speaker was loud so the lip syncing went well
- Even though we had planned out the shots we wanted - we were able to take extra shots and explore   different shots
- We filmed everything we needed to in a good amount of time - 5 hours

What Didn't Go So Well?

- The tunnel was quite small so we didn't get as much of variety - as we first hoped
- There was a lot of car noises which at times disrupted the speaker sound
- The tunnel in terms of width was narrow therefore trying to do a long shot of the performer was quite tricky
