Shooting- 17/12/14

On the 17/12/14 we decided to re-shoot the narrative aspect of our music video, as we believe that the narrative footage we did have was not enough compared to the performance shots.
Unfortunately we could not get hold of the original actress, therefore we chose a new one, and decided to re- shoot all the narrative shots.

Location - Golders Green/High Street
Actress -Cooney

We decided to use Golders Green as the high street was the perfect location and Algwyne the performer knew the area well.


we decided to use this cafe as a vital location for the narrative; this is because stereotypically cafes are a place couples go to, and therefore using a couple in our narrative worked well


What went well?

• Timming went well, as we started early and finished in time
• We got extra footage, and some improvised shots so if we feel that a particualr shot doesn't work during editing then we still have other footage to use

What did'nt go well?

• The weather made the day look dull, so some footage looks dull

London Night Filming

We went out to film the rest of our music video in central London. Since we previously filmed all of our footage in the daytime, the next step or our developed idea as I could say was filming during the night. The filming took place at a foreshore in Southbank and was later used as the performance shots. The filming was rather successful as we got to record the whole song twice from 4 various angles which contributed to our piece. We were also able to record some rough 360 degrees shots that after editing looked really jumpy but pleasant.  However, we did face some problems; we filmed during the night which meant that the shots were usually under-lit and the quality of the footage was quite poor despite the good angles.  Another problem we faced was the weather; the wind was quite strong and occasional showers caught us which got the camera glass as well as us wet- this was an issue as the artist was supposed to look sharp and neat in his suit. Despite all that I believe that the filming was successful as we not only got the footage we needed but also experimented with the focus ring as well as the low angle

Vics Tunnel

Shooting Updates - 27/10/14

On the 27th of October 2014, the group filmed our performance shoots in the 'Graffiti Tunnel' in Leake Street

Mise-en-Scene - Guitar/ Indie Clothing          

Location - Graffiti Tunnel - shots where the artist is against the graffiti walls - so you can see the designs

Sound - Some Diegetic sounds used for the beginning of the video

Lighting - mostly natural lighting - but there were lights inside the tunnel

Equipment used - Tri Pod/ Camera/ Speakers/

What went well?

- Lighting looks/ makes the video look bright        and colorful (with the graffiti)
- Not many pedestrians - so we were able to get shots alone with the performer
- Speaker was loud so the lip syncing went well
- Even though we had planned out the shots we wanted - we were able to take extra shots and explore   different shots
- We filmed everything we needed to in a good amount of time - 5 hours


What Didn't Go So Well?

- The tunnel was quite small so we didn't get as much of variety - as we first hoped
- There was a lot of car noises which at times disrupted the speaker sound
- The tunnel in terms of width was narrow therefore trying to do a long shot of the performer was quite tricky
