Audience Feedback 1

After filming the music video, we began to edit it and consequently we created a ruff cut of the video.
We showed this ruff cut to an audience of people in order to receive feedback.

Audience Member - Sam (Media Teacher)
Feedback Received:

  • The visuals in the video are very selected; for example the first verse has the tunnel location the second has the beach and the last bit has the night location - you don't have to have such selected visuals; in a music video things can be split up and some shots can also be repeated.
  • Because of the segmented visuals it feels as though the video drags

Audience Member - Tom (Target Market - aged 18)
Feedback Received:
  • I love the visual metaphors; like using the fence as a jail and the performer is behind it as if to say his life is a jail
  • I love how the visuals match the tone of the music - e.g. the ocean with the tune of the slow paced guitar
  • I really like the home footage effect - comes across more personal as if were seeing into his past
Audience Member - Sam (Target Market - aged 18)
Feedback Received:
  • Really like how we used the cross dissolve effect between shots as it fits well with the emotional music
  • Really like the visual metaphors
  • Love the beach shots with the home footage effect - makes it feel more personal and makes us invest more into the story line and emotions of the artist
